Lead
Leadership requires our athletes to be disciplined, committed, effective communicators, who are selfless and willing to hold themself accountable, as well as their teammates. This allows them to learn how to lead with courage and integrity, on and off the court, knowing God’s presence provides the strength to face challenges. It also sets a positive example for teammates, peers, and other athletes. Their leadership is rooted in faith, not fear of failure. Student-athletes come to understand that every team member is called to serve a higher purpose, rather than for personal glory.
Believe
Athletes develop a foundational belief in God’s promises, purposes, and their own God-given potential and talents, which is not dependent only on performance. This faith provides a deeper purpose for their efforts, and running the “race” of life to win an eternal prize, trusting God is with them through any setback, adversity, and everywhere they go in life, whether that is on or off the court. Believingalso requires our student-athletes to believe not only in one’s self, but also in their teammates and coaches. Believing asks our players and coaches to have faith that their effort and hard work are meaningful beyond the game itself, with a belief and trust in God’s purpose and lasting reward of eternal life. This gives the athletes the internal motivation to pursue eternal, not just worldly, rewards.
Compete
Our program emphasizes competing with discipline, purpose, self control, and excellence as an act of worship. Athletes are taught to train hard, master their skills, and strive for victory, but remembering that what we do for Christ will last. Players understand that their talents and efforts are gifts to be used for a greater purpose, and to give glory to God and share the message of the gospel. This value encourages using their platform and abilities to serve others, build up their teammates, and contribute positively to their community, schools, and home life, reflecting their service to the Lord. Student-athletes understand that our ultimate goal is to receive an eternal crown by giving all of their heart, maximum effort, and strength for the Lord, both physically and spiritually, and not for human recognition or for a fading trophy.
